Announcement Kharam-Dzu Invites all to a Foundation Day Celebration Kharam-Dzu have announced a weekend of celebrations to commemorate the founding of Kharam-Dzu. This year will be the 115th year of the establishment of this trading town and members of the Borthuum Clan have agreed to fund this celebration. The celebrations hope to include: - Contests including: - - Dwarven Story telling, - - Hunt the dwarf competition (a varient of hide and seek) - - A time honored Drinking Game - Free food and drink - Firework Displays - Souveniers for all visitors - A Guided tour of the town for citizens and visitors alike - Unveiling of a new wing to the Museum with newly donated items - The distribution of citizen pins - Free travel for citizens on glaesten star for this weekend and reduced rates for non-citizens - Merchant tents with some intermittent work undertaken. The celebrations will culminate in the unveiling of a statue to Ghorsa Borthuum. The statue will unveiled by the somewhat ellusive Eregrek Borthuum, the current Prince of Kharam-Dzu and the Borthuum Clan leader. Although this statue has already been commissioned, the Borthuum Clan invite contributions from citizens of Kharam-Dzu to help fund the completion of this statue. Their contributions will be publically recognised plaque. OOC: (1) This event culminate in an invasion. We'd want it to be bloody and brutal i think - hehe. Perhaps we could have 'invaders' making their way to town in very small groups intermittently to give a hint of something bigger to come. (2) Eregrek Borthuum could start making appearances in the town.. giving a hint that something is going to happen. (I don't actually think this character actually exists as a NPC yet. Not seen him anyway.) (3) As a member of Wordsmiths I had submitted an idea which was to go hand in hand with this being the 115th year of the town's foundation. In brief it related to the finding of vellum journals of Ghorsa which tell of his trials and tribulations in travelling to Teras, and in the formation of the town. Whereas, at the time of the proposal last year, this would have been a great find in the 115th year, it might now seem a little contrived. Let me know what you think and I can pursue this again if needed and have something potentially useable in 4 weeks. (I'll forward the original proposals to you and GS-Scribes for review. They may need modification now.)
