Cyprus - The beautiful Island
Not been to Cyprus? You've just got to go! The people are wonderful...friendly, inviting...just wonderful. The family spent a week there in temperatures that were a tad excessive. Great holiday!

Betws-y-Coed
The weather was so glorious that I took the advice of a colleague at work and drove 2 and a half hours to Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia. This is my first ever drive to Wales. Beautiful. What was more interesting was seeing the sign on the way back saying 'Welcome to England'. I've never seen that before.

Two minutes silence
Tomorrow the country will have a two minute silence for the dead of 7/7. I will be observing that 2 minutes silence. I am still coming to terms with finding out that the bombers were British.

Expressions I hate
There are a couple of expressions that i absolutely hate. One is 'THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX.' The other is 'JOINED UP THINKING'. Stupid stupid expressions!

God bless you Stoke on Trent City Council!
I can't believe it! I've got a parking fine from Stoke City Council. Stupid people with nothing better to do! There
goes £30.00. I'll write a letter of complaint but i suspect I have a cats chance in Hades of getting anywhere. So Stoke on
Trent City Council...it seems that you have left me with only one other way to express how i feel.

Taking life for granted
The events of yesterday have made me think about things a little more. I went downstairs this morning and got a glass of water. I let the water run to get cold and then suddenly thought 'how many people are dying of thurst in the world at this moment. How many people could be sustained by the water i just let run out.' I take so many things for granted!

Terrorists attack London!
There are over 300 injured and over 37 people dead as a result of three explosions on the London Underground and one explosion on a bus. I am so angry! Bloody scumbag sons of bi*ches!

G8 protesters cause mayhem!
What a bunch of idiots. Get a bloody job! I'm not talking about the peaceful demonstrators who show their support for Africa and who are dedicated to encouraging the G8 leaders - and especially the USA Leader - to adhere to the Kyoto principles. I'm talking about the blaster pseudo-radical anarchist scumbags that detract from the message. I repeat. Get a job!

London win 2012 Olympic bid
The 2012 Olympic Games will be held in London, the International Olympic Committee has announced. London won a two-way fight with Paris by 54 votes to 50 at the IOC meeting in Singapore, after bids from Moscow, New York and Madrid were eliminated. YES!!! I AM DAMN EXCITED!

Live 8 hailed a success
The world's biggest music stars have united in concerts around the globe to put pressure on political leaders to tackle poverty in Africa. Concerts in 10 cities, including London, Philadelphia, Paris, Berlin, Johannesburg, Rome and Moscow played to hundreds of thousands of people. I have to admit that I didn't watch more than a few minutes of the event. In fact I was more interested in Venus Williams playing and beating her opponent in the Wimbledon Women's final! I applaud the ideals that lead to this ground breaking series of events. It has increased awareness.... but whether it will influence those G8 leaders is another matter.

Bloody Pingu
Ok so this game is a bit gory and seems to have no useful purpose. But I do like it! Wish I could play it better! No idea who to credit for this game. If anyone finds out, let me know.

I hate days like this!
What a day today! I spent two hours searching for 8 hours of work saved on the computer. I found it eventually
thank god, but I was like a bear with a sore head for hours. The day culminated with an investigation into an employee's
alledged behaviour...something I hope never to have to do again!

Race For Life
Today I ran a 3 mile race in aid of cancer research. Two friends ran with me, along with thousands of women. We should raise a couple of hundred pounds I think.

Historic agreement to cancel debt
A meeting of G8 finance ministers agreed to write off 55 billion US dollars owed by 38 countries after the United States backed the plan. Debts of 40 billion US dollars from 18 countries will be written off immediately, with another 11 billion from nine countries to go in 12-18 months. The debts are owed to the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and African Development Fund.

Pick up that dog crap
One of my bugbears at the moment is the amount of doggie doo's that is festooning our grassy areas and worse still , our paths. Some conscientious owners actually do the right thing and pick up dog mess left by their animals. However, we have too many people that don't bother. The answer? More prosecutions!! Or rub the owners faces in it. I am happy with both solutions!

My niece has come back from France...her first trip abroad without her parents. She brought me a present. I have absolutely no idea what it is but I'll keep it in a safe place.
