personal - GemStone IV interview with razurn

Interview with Razurn T'Kir-Wodan

Interview held on Restday, the 16th day of Fashanos, in the year 5111.

QUESTIONS

1: What is your name (required) and training level (not essential)

I am Great Lord Razurn T'Kir-Wodan. A giantman mauler of the Bear clan (of course) in my 42nd training.

2: How long have you wandered the lands?

I've been adventuring for about 4 years now, I take a break about every 6 months.

3: What hunting style do you opt for?

I would classify my style as a tactical brute force sort of hybrid. I like to start off with a nice feint to catch my enemy off balance and then take a leg out, for wagglers I might feint and then truehand to get the stun, sunder if they have a shield, then ambush a leg. When I'm fighting multiple enemies I like to stun them one by one and then multistrike or berserk.

4: What percentage of your time do you spend hunting? How do you spend your other time?.

I'd say I spend a good 80% of my time hunting, while I'm resting I do guild work. I've mastered tricks and I've almost mastered berserk. And if I'm not doing either...I like to get drunk.

5: What is and/or was your most enjoyable hunting area and why?

I have a couple favorites. The funnest hunting would be the centaurs on the moors between Zul and the landing. I hunted there from about my 18th training to my 25th. I liked that it was out of the way enough that I had pretty much the whole area to myself. After that I'd have to say the bog in River's Rest. In my first week there I made a little over 3mil just hunting. And the jungles in The Rest and on teras with the jungle trolls. Any time I can kill trolls, I'm happy.

6: What do you enjoy most about your time in the lands?

Killing things.

7: Is there anyone within the lands that you admire? (Any profession) Who and why?

All the older guys who helped me out along the way. There's really to many to name. I think we help each other more than any other profession, it's all about honor and respect. I don't really admire any other profession. I guess what I'm trying to say is I admire every warrior in the lands, past and present. From the kid swinging his drake falchion at kobolds to the legends like Drizzsdt. I say that because the path of a warrior is wrought with pain, and peril. They could have taken the easy way out and been some sort of waggler, but they decided to go the hard way. We don't sit back and throw spells at critters from a distance, or hide in the shadows. We confront our foes head on, face to face, up close and personal. And if that's not to be admired I don't know what is.

8: What has been your best moment in the lands so far?

Hunting with my brother. That and being killed by V'Tull. 9: What has been your worst moment in the lands so far?

Being killed by V'Tull.

10: What advice would you give to a new warrior?

Persist. Conquer. Destroy. Create

11: If you had to do it all again, knowing what you now know, would you do anything differently?

I'd have told friends I cared for them more directly so that in times of trouble or darkness we'd have not drifted apart because other priorities drove them and I to withdraw and defend what we perceived without being honest with each other. I tried, but I have failed. Yet, I'd rather learn from failure than to never know it. I think I have taken this advice to heart and in cases where it should be spoken, I have reached out to them

12: Is there anything you want to add to this interview?

Strength and Honor. ::pounds chest::
