personal - GemStone IV Family Issues
- 1. Contests should always be fun!
- 2. All contests will establish the criteria for entry. Contest setters will try to provide as much detail regarding the terms and conditions of the contest. They will be as specific as they can about what they are seeking from the contest entrant and where appropriate, will provide an example of what we are looking for, to provide additional clarification.
- 3. Details will always include:
* Details of who is eligible to enter
* Details of what needs to be submitted
* The method of submission
* The submission deadline
* The method of selecting the winners
* The prizes offered to winning submissions
- 4. The entrant is responsible for carefully reading all the information provided before entering the contest. However all reasonable requests for clarification will be met. Where clarification is sought this may be made publically through the forum or privately via email. (Where the contest setter expresses a preference regarding methods of communication, then the entrant will use the preferred method of communication wherever possible.)
- 5. The entrant is responsible for submitting before the published deadline.
- 6. The contest setter will always endeavour to publish a list of qualifying entries received and that will be publicised no later than one week after the contest entry deadline.
- 7. Where entrants feel that entries have been omitted from the publicised list of entrants, then they are invited to query that omission. Proof of a qualifying submission will only be accepted where the original email is forwarded to the contest setter. The contest setter will acknowledge all such legitimate submissions, either through the updating of the published list or via an individual response to the email or both.
- 8. The contest setter will give an indication of the timeframe for the announcement of winners. The timeframe will be realistic and achievable. Where intervening events are likely to lead to a delay in the publication of names of winners, then notification of delay, with a reevaluation in the time for publication, will be provided publically.
- 9. Both contest setter and contest entrant will be respectful of each other's time in setting the contest, developing work for submission and judging entries.
- 10. Remember that contests should always be fun!
