Lottery Syndicate agreement


This is the formal lottery syndicate agreement relating to the participation of syndicate members in the National Lottery within the United Kingdom. 

1:	This syndicate relates to the Saturday National Lottery draw – currently called LOTTO.

2:	The syndicate agreement commences on [date] and ceases on [date].

3:	The syndicate members are over the age of 16 and are:

4:	The appointed Syndicate Organiser is [name]. The Syndicate Organiser performs the administrative function for the syndicate which comprises:

- Notification of monies due from syndicate members
- Collection of monies from syndicate members
- Holding of monies on behalf of syndicate members
- Providing syndicate members with monthly updates regarding winnings
- Distribution of winnings in accordance with the rules of this syndicate agreement.

5:	All syndicate members must submit six numbers for inclusion within the lottery. Members may use any method they wish to select six numbers. The numbers submitted will be used for the duration of the syndicate and will not be varied. The numbers submitted form part of the syndicate of numbers and do not belong to any one syndicate member. Where numbers submitted are identical to six numbers already submitted by another syndicate member, then one or more of those numbers must be varied.

6:	Each syndicate member will pay in advance, £[sum] ( sum in text ) covering a five week payment period. ( i.e. amount in text ). Syndicate members will be given at least ten days notice of the due date for next payment. If the cost of the drawer increases then each syndicate member will be contacted to confirm whether they wish to continue within the syndicate. 

7:	Tickets will only be purchased for the Saturday Draw. The Syndicate Organiser will purchase the ticket on behalf of the syndicate members. Where the Syndicate Organiser is unable to purchase a ticket, then the Syndicate Organiser will contact another member of the syndicate to undertake the purchase.

8:	All winnings are to be shared equally amongst syndicate members. Syndicate members will receive within 7 working days, their share of any and all winnings above £[sum]. Any winnings of £[sum] or less will be retained by the Syndicate Organiser until 18/12/05 and then distributed equally to syndicate members.

9:	New syndicate members can be included upon agreement by a simple majority of all syndicate members. Where there are an even number of syndicate members then the Syndicate Organiser will have the casting vote.  Agreement to include a new syndicate member will result in the dissolution of the syndicate at the end of the five week payment period. All monies accumulated will be distributed evenly amongst pre-existing syndicate members and a new syndicate agreement created.

10:	The death of a syndicate member will result in the dissolution of the syndicate at the end of the five week payment period. Any and all monies accumulated will be shared amongst all syndicate members, with the deceased member’s share going to the member’s estate. A new agreement must then be formulated.

11:	Where a syndicate member fails to provide lottery payment for a five week payment period, - and where that syndicate member has been given at least ten days notice of the due date for payment - then their membership within the syndicate will be suspended for that five week payment period. During this period of suspension the suspended party will not be entitled to any winnings accruing during this five week payment period. 

12:	Where a syndicate member fails to provide lottery payment for two consecutive five week payment periods then the syndicate will be dissolved at the end of that second five week payment period and a new syndicate will be created without that defaulting member.

13.	The syndicate members agree that the Syndicate Organiser will not be financially liable if she fails to place the agreed numbers, or places the wrong numbers. 

14:	In the event of major win, syndicate members may seek whatever publicity they deem fit. However all syndicate members agree not to disclose information relating to other syndicate members without prior permission. 



We the undersigned understand the above syndicate rules and agree to abide by those rules. ( A copy of this agreement will be provided to all syndicate members.)
