|| DRINK 1 || This is a racial beverage, which although brewed for the consumption of all, has benefits appreciated more by the Dwarves within the lands. A bottle of Cave Moss Ale The simplicity of this earthenware bottle belies its complexity of design. Constructed from white and buff colored clay, an intricate pattern of diamond shapes winds its way around the base, snaking in a single chain to the neck. The bottle's neck is pinched to provide a chamber for a smooth stone which acts as a stopper. Messaging: Normal a) The bitterness of the ale gives way to a more vibrant sensation that tantilises your tastebuds and caresses the back of your throat. b) A strong, somewhat pleasurable, vapour wafts through your nasal passages and into your sinuses creating an initial dizzyness which you fight to overcome. Messaging: Racial a) The ale numbs your tongue as it trickles to the back of your throat, oozing downwards with a silky smoothness that quenches your previously unrealised thirst. b) The pungent aroma of this fermented brew invades your nostrils causing them to flare in rememberance of the sweet smell of cavernous dwellings and mountainous haunts. BACKGROUND I have opted for a plant that would be readily available to Dwarven kind and in such abundence - given their love for mountains and tunnels - that they would be able to acquire sufficient to create their drink. Of course the drink had to be ale! The bottle's construction is designed to reflect both the ingenuity of the Dwarves, their love of items shiney (hence the diamond pattern) .... but also their somewhat headstrong, impatient nature. The bottle has no stopper, just a simple gem. _______________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________________ || DRINK 2 || Me again - Good afternoon This is a Brandy with a Forest Gnome Bias A bottle of Founders Day brandy This peculiarly small bottle crafted from potash and soda feels fragile to the touch, it's opaque surface revealing a hint of the deep brown liquid within. A single strand of glass purposely stained with metallic impurities winds its way from base to tip. A corked stopper dyed green and stamped with a golden sheaf of grain, holds the liquid safely. Messaging: Normal a) The liquid coalesces on your tongue as an initial weak cordial taste before warming your throat with an surprising blast of heat. b) The fragrance of fruity, somewhat sickly berries fills your nostrils and is reminiscent of berry-flavoured liquids from childhood. Messaging: Racial a) A soft smooth flowing liquid trickles over your palate, the initial intense heat giving way to first a pleasurable warmth and then a unexpected burst of the flavour of summer fruit. b) The intoxicating vapours overpower your senses with a heady bouquet of summer flowers, grapes and berries. BACKGROUND This brandy has been created to celebrate The Founders Day and is only available at certain times of the year, to mark this gnome celebration. http://www.play.net/gs4/info/tomes/gnomes/basingstoke.asp. Given the stature of the gnomes the brandy naturally has more impact on forest gnomes. However most races will find it pleasurable..after a fashion. The bottle's cork represents the symbol of Imaera. http://www.play.net/gs4/info/tomes/deities/imaera.asp. This was thought preferable to stamping Imaera's name more boldly upon it. Those of her worshiper that know the symbol, can drink in praise of her - gnome or non-gnome. Those who do not will not be reticent to drink due to fealty to other deities. For your consideration Bremerial Dwarf - who knows the value of good drink (Even an elven one!)
