Memoria
This page is our page of dedication.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Extract from FOR THE FALLEN by Laurence Binyon
9/11
As I struggled to find some poignant quotation from the internet, I suddenly realised that it was own thoughts that were needed; Not the thoughts of another.
I was driving back to the office when by chance I turned on the radio on 11th September 2001 and heard the reports of the attack on the World Trade Center. At first I thought it was a joke. Some joke!
NOTHING can ever justify such acts. No one has the right to commit such acts, whether unprovoked or in retaliation, whether in God's name or in the name of a country.
This section is dedicated to those that lost their lives that day. But the dedication is extended to all those who are suffering as a result of violent acts committed against them.
Red Cross and Red Crescent
" The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance."
" It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. "
" Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. "

Christine Owen
" Chris Owen was a friend with whom I worked. She suffered from Cancer and on 16 February 2009 she passed away."
"She battled bravely through her illness, asserting her independence almost until the end. In the last three weeks
she entered hospital and from there a hospice. She died after 6am on 16 February 2009. I will remember her as a funny, jigsaw loving, caring
individual to whom I should have devoted more time.
Goodbye Chris. Chips and fishcakes will never be the same! "
CARL MASSEY
" Carl Massey died on 12 June 2011 He was husband and father to two 17 year old children. His death was sudden,
and as of yet unexplained. His death has had a major impact on a number of lives. He was 44 years old."
