We have found over the years that the queries raised by our visitors tend to be similar in nature. It therefore makes sense to provide answers to those questions in an area that is publicly accessible.

GENERAL

1: Why is the system slow to respond?

We have limited graphics on all pages to ensure that pages can be accessed quickly. However it is possible that the site itself or the server may be undergoing maintenance work at the time of your visit. Also during peak hours this site may become busy. The solution is to try again later. If the problem persists then please contact us.

2: Will emailing result in junk mail?

Absolutely Not!. Any contact with us will be either to enable us to provide you with further information or advice or to assist us in improving our site. Assess Risk does not condone, encourage or assist in Spam - the unsolicited junk mailing of customers online. You will be placed on a mailing list to receive updated information ONLY if you request this.

3: Can I use elements of this site?

The forms and documents in the appendices of the Safety Zone section can be freely used. All other areas of this site are protected by copyright and cannot be used without the permission of the webmaster. Permission will almost always be given if there is an agreement to attribute the information used to the author.

4: Why haven't you replied to my email?

We try to respond to all questions as quickly as possible. However sometimes, due to personal circumstances, this is not always possible. If you do not receive a response from us within 7 days then please resend the email. If you still do not receive a response then please check that you have used the correct email address. If so, then please be patient. We will get back to you.

5: Do provide professional services?

Alas no. This is a non commercial site and we do not sell services. However we will try to answer queries where possible. No charge.

6: Can I link to your site?

Absolutely. If you wish to link to any part of this site you may do so. A text link can be used, or if you wish, you may use one of the three graphics provided. (We don't provide banners.) Please note that linking to us does not place any obligation on us to reciprocate.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

1: How accurate is the information?

We have tried to provide up-to-date information relating to all the subject headings in the health and safety section of this site. We do not however claim infallibility. Clarification regarding any issue discussed can always be sought via email. We have provided email links at the base of each item.

2: Do you have a list of resources?

I would recommend one of three sources for health and safety information:

1: The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) website or information line - Tel: 08701 545 500;
2: Your local environmental health department;
3: Your local fire prevention officer from your local fire authority

3: Is the information only applicable to the UK?

Although many of the principles within the health and safety section of this site are applicable to all businesses, irrespective of origin, the details are based on legislation within the United Kingdom. European business based in countries that are members of the EEC will find that much of the information is actually applicable to them also to certain extent, as UK legislation is an interpretation - in many cases - of the European Directives to which all member states are bound. However different countries may interperet that legislation differently.

AWARD PROGRAM

1: Why isn't my site listed in your winners section?

All winners are listed unless:

The site no longer displays the award given
Subsequent to winning the award the site promotes racism, sexism, pornography, violence, nudity, illegality, hate or use of profanity or is in breach of copyright
Links to the site failed to work before the award program closed.

2: Can I alter the award graphic?

We do not permit any alteration to the award graphic. We believe that the graphic is of sufficient weight and size to be accommodated within all sites, without the need for modification. Alterations to the graphics will be deemed to be a breach of copyright.

3: Will your award program be returning?

Unlikely. However we never say never!
